Who else is obsessed with the French Riviera style? I love the dark blues, stripy off the shoulder dresses, straw hats, and big sunglasses. The style is sophisticated and effortless. I have collated a few things from the high street to give you an idea. You don’t really need to get a ticket to Saint Tropez but you can at least look french chic wherever you are.
This is my contribution to the polka dot trend, this dressing gown from H&M home. I didn’t anticipate purchasing one when I went in for a browse but it feels incredibly soft I had to have it.
The weather was gorgeous in London today – the sunshine came!
After purchasing a straw basket bag today, I am a little obsessed with this summer trend. I have put together a few I have seen online, they are all divine for this warm weather and it’s hard to dislike them. Take it to the park, supermarket or a nice brunch with the girls in the sunshine, a versatile look for Spring/Summer.
So it’s true, the sunshine IS here, I found this straw bag in Primark, I have had my eye to purchase one similar. Other retailers are selling it at such a higher price, it made sense to get it once I saw it, at a bargain price of £8 and the fact it’s scorching in London for a few days it’s getting an outing.
Topshop leather sandals – £26
Arrgh does anyone else have the odd silly purchase and kick themselves or is it just me?
I bought these Mango platform sandals a size up, there is a method to this madness, I tried the size 5 in the shop and it looked amazing, but I thought they were a little tight. I went home and looked at them online because I couldn’t stop thinking about them. I decided to get the 6 – what could go wrong? they have a buckle so I can tighten them up. They arrived, hurray they fit well and look fantastic, I walk around my flat in them for a bit – I am happy. I am winning!
So a few days have passed and I have decided today is the day and I will venture out in them. I walk for about 10 mins and DISASTER! my toes keep popping under the top strap meaning my toe is sticking out underneath and it bloody hurts. Hit me with a feather – I have to wear these all day. I get home, they are scuffed from a days walking which means I CAN’T RETURN THEM LOOKING LIKE THIS! they go back in the box, I don’t think I have worn them out again – BUGGER THAT. So ladies and Gentlemen there is exhibit A for a perfect example of a silly purchase.
They are currently on the Vinted App for sale – sad face.
I’ve started my spring cleaning for my wardrobe, this means selling items I don’t wear on eBay and use the money in my Paypal account to buy new things for Spring/Summer. I also started tidying up my jewellery and realised I hardly wear any Jewellery in the cold months. I’ve missed them and can’t wait for the weather to warm up. Roll on spring …
Has anyone tried taking a small bag out? I attempt to and then realise I need this, this and this. A book for the tube, headphones to listen to a podcast at work, hand cream, lip balm, phone, purse, tissues, the list is endless. I feel like if I carry all my items in a backpack my back hurts, switch to a shoulder bag, my shoulder hurts, I see a pattern emerging here. What’s the solution, I can’t part with essential items, can I ?
Big bag, small bag, you will find that something is always missing you should have, could have taken so I’ll try to ditch the heavy items for now because nobody likes lugging things on a daily basis.
I just finished filming my second vlog, how to get your face ready in less than 10 mins – just need to edit the damn thing now. This pic I took after Face was did.
Happy hump day!
Now this is exciting, as well as a royal wedding to look forward to, we have inherited Meghan Markle, a 36 year old, LA girl who has already got us smitten.
She seems to have a very versatile look, she can pull off the classic jeans and white shirt, a frock o clock for all those Royal events, the suit, the biker chick, the sexy all black. It won’t be long until we see her as a style icon and eagerly await to find what her wedding dress will look like.
Now I have to be honest, I have never heard of her or seen the series Suits she has been acting on for 7 years, but I can only see it as a positive, it means I had no opinion of her.
From the interview with her and Prince Harry on the BBC last night following the announcement of their engagement. She came across wonderfully and we can’t wait to get to know her better. Prince Harry we already adore so they are a match made…
Roll on Spring 2018…
So I took the plunge and did my first vlog, my god it was so hard, hats off to the people who do this on a regular basis. It can take absolute ages editing if you are so particular about every detail. I sat there for hours cutting and adding then deleting things but I have to say I’m pretty excited about doing some more.
The most important thing is coming up with ideas for content but I’m enjoying it and I hope you do too. I started with the contents of my make up bag and I have to admit it’s quite minimal, hence the reason for a 7 min video. I am most certainly more of a skin care girl so you can hold your breath for make up tutorials haha.
Here is the link to my infamous first one;
Drop everything, I am in love!
Glossier opened it’s pretty pink life with a pop up store in London. Originally from New York, the beauty brand launched in the U.K. recently and popped itself in London from 15-22nd November, that’s right the last day is tomorrow, so if you can get yourself down there, it’s worth the visit.
You have an opportunity to try the products before you buy. The pop up store is situated on 2 floors with plenty of space and mirrors to test products and ask advice. The lovely glossier girls were wearing pale pink boiler suits and they looked so glamorous I wanted one for myself. The lady helping me with my purchases was a New Yorker and stated ‘ it was work attire and it was not allowed to be kept’ that’s an awful shame as if they put that up for sale I’d get it.
After walking around and trying and testing the products I bought the phase 1 gift set £35 which was featured on my wish list post, and a moon mask £18 . I rarely get excited, but I was giddy to see, and feel the products. Fingers crossed they decide to open a permanent store because let’s face it I might keep them in profit.
The pop up is at 32 Portland place, London W1B 1NA until tomorrow (22nd November)
So I finally purchased the new British vogue under newly appointed Editor in Chief Edward Enninful. I am extremely excited to see what this brings for the publication. I have to admit it has become a little stale and I stopped my subscription a while ago, but the spark might be back with new eyes, new ideas, and a new look.
All the best to Edward and his crew, long live British Vogue.
The December issue is out now for £3.99
When Monday comes around so quick and you freak out with the amount of things to organise. Never fear the day can’t be bad if you have happy copper boots to cheer you right up for a cold Monday morning.
I thought I would do a little list of items I have my eye on, but holding back the reins to buy it because the struggle is real, and you just have to stop spending like a crazy person. This is in no particular order of preference, because let’s face it, I want it all.
Go French – I am obsessed with my beret, you have to carefully consider what you wear with it, otherwise you feel incredibly silly.
I found a long sleeved stripy top with squiggly red writing and of course had to buy it, what a sucker for a stripy top. This was £20 from Topshop and perfect for layering. Oui oui mon cherie.
Sunglasses; Victoria Beckham , Shoes; Blondie Vintage at Spitalfields, Nail Varnish; Chanel, Bag; Tamara Fogle Bags, Beret & Stripy top; Topshop.
The highly anticipated collaboration between Erdem and H&M landed on Thursday 2nd. Look back to the night before the launch when I didn’t get a chance to go to a preview to purchase 2 pieces I have had my eye on for ages but no bother I’ll go online first thing only to realise the launch starts at 9 am which is an absolute let down. I underestimated the popularity of this collaboration and had to find out the hard way.
I work part time and Thursdays is a working day, first I have to drop off my son to my mum and then catch a bus to work, in my head it’s all sorted I’ll jump online around half 9 when I’m on the bus and I should get my bag and white frilly shirt. I drop my son off and started searching online at the bus stop only to find it’s sold out – oh my gosh, I was devastated, I honestly thought it wouldn’t be sold out that quick but it was, I managed to get the bag shown in the picture here but not the shirt. By the time I got to work for 10, everything was almost gone. In hindsight I would have gone online before I got on the tube, and purchased the items.
I noticed people were selling items on e-bay literally by 10am or even earlier, double or even triple the original price but you can’t stop people doing this. I stopped off at Westfield on the way home just by chance if it was there but it wasn’t so I’ll have to get an alternative. Ah I’m over it (not)
