Who else is obsessed with the French Riviera style? I love the dark blues, stripy off the shoulder dresses, straw hats, and big sunglasses. The style is sophisticated and effortless. I have collated a few things from the high street to give you an idea. You don’t really need to get a ticket to Saint Tropez but you can at least look french chic wherever you are.
The weather was gorgeous in London today – the sunshine came!
After purchasing a straw basket bag today, I am a little obsessed with this summer trend. I have put together a few I have seen online, they are all divine for this warm weather and it’s hard to dislike them. Take it to the park, supermarket or a nice brunch with the girls in the sunshine, a versatile look for Spring/Summer.
So it’s true, the sunshine IS here, I found this straw bag in Primark, I have had my eye to purchase one similar. Other retailers are selling it at such a higher price, it made sense to get it once I saw it, at a bargain price of £8 and the fact it’s scorching in London for a few days it’s getting an outing.
Topshop leather sandals – £26
I’ve started my spring cleaning for my wardrobe, this means selling items I don’t wear on eBay and use the money in my Paypal account to buy new things for Spring/Summer. I also started tidying up my jewellery and realised I hardly wear any Jewellery in the cold months. I’ve missed them and can’t wait for the weather to warm up. Roll on spring …
Has anyone tried taking a small bag out? I attempt to and then realise I need this, this and this. A book for the tube, headphones to listen to a podcast at work, hand cream, lip balm, phone, purse, tissues, the list is endless. I feel like if I carry all my items in a backpack my back hurts, switch to a shoulder bag, my shoulder hurts, I see a pattern emerging here. What’s the solution, I can’t part with essential items, can I ?
Big bag, small bag, you will find that something is always missing you should have, could have taken so I’ll try to ditch the heavy items for now because nobody likes lugging things on a daily basis.
I thought I would do a little list of items I have my eye on, but holding back the reins to buy it because the struggle is real, and you just have to stop spending like a crazy person. This is in no particular order of preference, because let’s face it, I want it all.
Go French – I am obsessed with my beret, you have to carefully consider what you wear with it, otherwise you feel incredibly silly.
I found a long sleeved stripy top with squiggly red writing and of course had to buy it, what a sucker for a stripy top. This was £20 from Topshop and perfect for layering. Oui oui mon cherie.
Sunglasses; Victoria Beckham , Shoes; Blondie Vintage at Spitalfields, Nail Varnish; Chanel, Bag; Tamara Fogle Bags, Beret & Stripy top; Topshop.
I love my baby pink and red accessories. I recently bought the gorgeous Lulu Guinness cardholder and umbrella to fit nicely in my bag. The gorgeous Pom Pom earrings are from Zara which adds a little punch to an all black outfit. The book; The Curated Closet, I’m currently reading on and off but if you need help in organising your wardrobe and tips on finding your style and sensible purchasing it’s really good. Nail polish; the red one is by Chanel and the pink one from cheeky. I have the Clarins eye reviver to perk the eyes, and the H&M hand cream in a lush pink tube.
Would you believe me if I had said my husband bought this, wait for it, for himself! I think he bought it from Liberty for around £99. When he came home with it, I was kind of shocked, it’s so crazy. Well, guess who is using it now! I love the sparkle, and the snake skin like texture. I bought my husband a plain green one so knew this was hibernating in its box. Comme des garçons is a brand I’m fond of, it’s cool, it’s quirky and certainly brightens up any bag.
